Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) P.Q.S.C., Qatar’s next generation bank, as part of its ongoing efforts to support the national banking infrastructure and address the challenges facing the financial sector in Qatar, is participating in Qatar Central Bank’s (QCB) 4th Information Security Conference for the Financial Sector as one of the event’s Silver Sponsors.
Held this year under the theme “Cyber Attacks and its Impact on the Economy”, the event is taking place at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In its 4th edition, the conference is bringing together all financial institutions and banks in the country to exchange expertise and share strategies towards raising the information security level in the sector to its absolute maximum, in light of the current cyber security challenges in the region and their potential impact on the economy. Participating organizations and institutions will be jointly working towards adopting the processes and best practices necessary to safeguard their infrastructures, as well as to establish a unified security strategy in the financial sector.
Some of the key topics on the event’s agenda include database security, cyber security policies for banking, combating email fraud, the evolving nature of cyber-threats in payment systems, defense strategies for the financial sector, and the importance of business continuity in ICT.
